Congratulations on a job well done. I lost my mom six years ago on May 19, 2002 to this dreadful disease. Who knows maybe I'll see you in 2009.

My grandson Eric was diagnosed with a GBM that started in the spine. Tragically, he was gone in only 4 months. He was a very brave 11 year old. Thank you each for caring enough to win the battle against this disease.

Original Post Date 4/17/07: I am participating in this year's walk (2006) for the first time. I am 23 years old have a brain tumor (astrocytoma glioma). I was diagnosed when I was 13 years old. I am fortunate in that my brain tumor is benign, but I have gone through 2 surgeries and 14 months of chemotherapy. It's wonderful that this walk will help fund research for brain tumors! I'm very exciting to participate in a charity walk that is so close to my heart. I look forward to May 12th! edit

Original Post Date 5/26/06: Natalie, Wow, you have put on a great event for two years in a row. Your dad is truly is looking down on you and saying, "great job!" I just wanted to let you know that my family is very thankful for giving those with brain tumors a face and a voice. Jill is going on four years since surgery and each time this event takes place we will be forever grateful of your family's effort. When we come , we bring family from New York to Evansville and we enjoy every moment! I am glad the message got out in the Indy Magazine. I will work on getting an article for next year. See you again in May-07!

Original Post Date 2/13/06: Hi,my name is Jodi Leever and one-year ago on February 7th, 2006 I found out my mother-in-law had a glioblastome brain tumor. It has been the hardest thing my husband and I have witnessed. She was a very active person (she is only 54). She enjoyed line-dancing and playing with her grandchildren. It is now very hard for her to get around, and she has frequent seizures. I think what you are doing is great! I don't know how to explain all of this to our children, they are 6, 4, and 19 mo. Thank you.

Original Post Date 5/30/05: Hello Natalie, I heard about your web-site from my Step brother Warren Rosenthal. I lost my father on March 1st to the same thing and I TRULY feel what you are going through. Our father was the same time of man with a full zest for life. Attached is his web page that the fire house he belonged to created so you can get a look at the wonderful man his was as well. http://robert-fischer.memory-of.com/about.aspx. I love the idea of what you did and I am so glad to hear it was a success. I would love to speak with you to see if there is something me and my family can do here in NY. Possibly, next year when you have your 2nd walk maybe we can plan something that we can walk at the same time as you, in NY. I would love to hear how you started this and maybe we can create a walk all over america for awareness. My e-amil is poohdawn at aol, I would love to hear from you. I thank you for what you have done and know that you are not alone. All the best, Dawn

Original Post Date 5/22/05: Dear Aunt Sema, Paul, Natalie, Michael and families-- Congratulations!! I heard you had a very successful event yesterday. Your hard work not only raised money for research but you have made so many more people aware of this horrible disease and how it affects people and their families. The pictures on this site remind me of my memories of Uncle Teddy- always smiling and kibitzing. Perhaps that beautiful, sunny day yesterday was one great big smile. Congratulations again. Love, Shelly

Original Post Date 5/3/05: My son who worked at Katz Sapper et al brought this run/walk to my attention. I had a brain tumor also, almost a year ago had it removed, although it was an anaplastic astrocytoma, Grade 3, and am doing well to date; have to keep an eye on those MRIs. My family is going to take part in this walk as we also live in Carmel, IN.

Original Post Date 4/24/05: What a wonderful event you have put together. Thank you for turning your situation into something that will hopefully lead to a cure. My seven-year-old son was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor eight months ago. After surgery, six weeks of daily chemo and radiation, and now six months of monthly chemo, he just completed his final treatment. His most recent MRI and spinal tap were clear. We are hopeful that he will survive his battle with this brain tumor and go on to live a full and healthy life. And maybe one day, because of events like yours, the same can be said of ALL those diagnosed with brain tumors. May God bless your family and friends. Good luck with your event. My son and I hope to meet you there.

Original Post Date 3/2/05: I could not get over how great your website looks and also how you have pulled together this fund raiser. I wish I could have met the wonderful Sapper family under different circumstances, but I am greatful that our paths did cross. My husband, Dave, was undergoing brain tumor surgery on the same day that Ted was being operated in Dec. 2003. Throughout that long & difficult day I kept seeing the Sapper family in many of the same places. It turned out that her dad was the first operation and my husband Dave was the second operation scheduled with the same Dr! I got to know the Sapper's and Natalie and learned instantly about their loving and caring family bond that they share and at the same time we were all creating our own bond. As time went on, we kept running into each other at doctor's appointments and being able to share the experiences we were all having. For the next few weeks, Dave and I got to know Ted, we all even ended up in Tampa together in Jan. 2004 for a brain tumor conference. I have learned that there is still so much to learn about the brain and what causes this terrible disease and I have also learned that there is a serious need for funding for research. If you cannot join the Sapper's in May, please find it in your heart to make a donation to a very worthwhile cause and spread the word. I look forward to visiting this guest book and reading all of the wonderful comments that family and friends make. With great appreciation for what you are doing, Susan Stevens
